CALLAHAN SPEEDWAY DRIVER OF THE WEEK

Andrew Chandler is the Driver of the Week for January 29, 2011.

From Woodbine, GA, he works as a mechanic in Kingsland, GA.  His number, 22, dates from his football days.  

He's been racing for about one year, starting here.  His father had been in racing earlier.  Twenty-one years old, Andrew told me he has 21 brothers and sisters, 14 of whom have his last name.  He normally races against four of them -- and often wins.  

He drives a "Shadow" car in the 375 Box Stock class.    

February 6, 2011  Driver of the Week

Randy Lucero, 18, is the Driver of the Week for Callahan Speedway for February 6, 2011.  A West Nassau High School junior, Randy drives #4. 

He's been racing for about three years.  His parents are Randy and Angel Lucero of Callahan.  Randy hopes to go to college and enter the engineering field. 

February 26 Callahan Speedway Driver of the Week

Lauren Hulslander is the Callahan Speedway Driver of the Week for February 26, 2011.  She is the daughter of Barbara and Jay Hulslander, Waverly, GA. 

Lauren drives #10, a Millenium Tempest, in the Powder Puff class.  A freshman at Coastal Georgia Community College, Brunswick, GA, she wants to become a marine biologist. 

She's been racing for about a year and #10 is the number she's kept during most of her sports career. 

March 5, 2011 Driver of the Week

David Wesley Hicken is the Callahan Speedway Driver of the Week for March 5, 2011.  David's parents are David and Jane Hicken.  An electrician, David has been racing go-karts for about 15 years and hopes to continue racing for the rest of his life.  This is a new kart and David hasn't had a chance to get it set up correctly.  He picked #33 to follow in his father's footsteps.  He drives a Box Stock 375.
